This is a detergent used in washing dishes. It is usually a highly foaming mixture of surfactants with low skin irritation and is primarily used for hand washing of dishes such as: glasses, cooking utensils, etc.
This is much effective in removing heavy dirt and other unbreakable dirts like grease and oil in your dishes. It helps to break dirts into tiny pieces and prevent fine dirt particles from combining, keep them in suspension and prevent them from settling back into utensils while washing.
Raw materials are now available in the local market. However, the question that might come into your mind is how you can make our own dishwashing liquid. That is not a problem anymore. It is because, i will provide you the formulation as well as the step-by-step procedure on how to make this high quality dishwashing liquid thru Do-It-Yourself technology.
How to Make Your Own Dishwashing Liquid.
Now a days, making your own dishwashing liquid is a great idea for practical consumers. With this, you can save more in your daily household consumption while giving you the opportunity to start your own business at home and make a good profit.
But prior to going to the actual steps on how to make dishwashing liquid. Let me first discuss with you the different ingredients in our formulation as well as its basic function and role combined as one product. Below are the list of basic ingredients:
1) Water
2) MC - Gel
3) Scent
4) Industrial Salt
5) BC-06
6) CD Amide (Bubble enhancer)
7) Anti-bacterial
8) Preservative (optional)
1) Water - The primary ingredient in all dishwashing liquid is water. It get the share of about 70% of the entire formula. Why I include water in this discussion, it is because water in your dishwashing liquid is critical. there are type of water contains micro-organism and chlorine that will cause surfactant mixture to biodegrade, therefore tap water is not ideal to use. Instead, use deionized water or distilled water, which is specially treated to remove various impurities.
2) MC-Gel. (the Surfactant)
Any detergent, powder or liquid are made of surfactants, short for surface-active-agent. This act as the 'workhorses': they do the basic work
of breaking up stains and keeping the dirt in the water solution to prevent
re-deposition of the dirt onto the utensils.
Surfactants disperse dirt that normally does not dissolve in water like oils and grease.
MC-Gel known as the main surfactant serves as the cleaning ingredient in dishwashing liquid. This ingredient interact with the surface and allows it to surround and trap oily and greasy materials from the surface. This is made of fatty acids that are naturally found in various plant and animals. MC-Gel is extracted from coconut oil, palm kernel oil and soybean oil.
3) Scent. To scent or to make dishwashing liquid smell good, thus
make more your soap lovable to the consumer. Scents available are: lemon scent, kalamansi, strawberry, green apply and etc.
4) Industrial Salt. Act as thickener agent in the dishwashing liquid or used to adjust the final viscosity of the product. It also keep the product homogenous under varying storage conditions and provide desirable characteristic.
5) BC-06. This is an ingredient added in the formulation that acts as the anti-grease or grease cutter ingredient. It is a secondary surfactant with a powerful oil and grease removal performance.
6) Antibacterial, is an agent that interferes with the growth and reproduction of bacteria. Antibacterial are now most commonly described as agent used to disinfect surfaces and eliminate potential harmful bacteria.
7) Preservatives. Preservatives are added, however this is optional, into the formulation of most products to help prevent any microbiological growth in the product which could cause color and odor change, poor performance and separation of the ingredients. Sine dishwashing liquid is made from water and organic compounds, contamination from bacteria and other microbes in possible.
FORMULATION:
1.4 Kg. MC-Gel
300.0 g. Industrial Salt
30.0 ml. Colorant
30.0 ml. Scent
120.0 ml. BC-06
500.0 ml. Bubble enhancer
15.0 ml. Anti-Bacterial
11.605 ltrs Purified or distilled Water
15.0 ml. Preservative (optional)
PROCEDURE:
1. Dissolve half of the SALT in a little amount of water. Mix well and set aside
2. Mix MC-Gel
and Salt in a plastic pail
3. Continue stirring the mixture until it
becomes crystallized and creamy. When mixture reaches such trace, add Water gradually while stirring slowly
in one direction to prevent the mixture from foaming.
4. Add the Colorant,
Scent, Bubble Enhancer, BC-06, Anti-Bacterial and preservative
(optional). Note. Always stir each time you add another ingredient. Make sure
that the ingredient completely disperses before adding another ingredient to
the mixture.
5. Finally, add the remaining Salt (dissolve in the water) to the
mixture while being mix continuously. Once thickened or already at the right viscosity or, leave the mixture for 24 hrs for clearing time.
6. Package and label your finish product as
desired.
